Privacy at Rabbit Hole
What stays on your device
Your conversations, your subjects, the documents you save and the pages you file are kept in your own browser. We don't keep a copy. Clearing your browser data removes them.
When you add a file, it is read in your browser. Only its text, up to about 6,000 characters, is sent with your question. The file itself never leaves your device.
What reaches our servers
- Each message you send, so an RI can answer it. If you added a file, the text of that file goes with it.
- In the extension: when you click Ask about this page, that page's title, address and the start of its text. The extension never reads a page unless you click, and it reads other sites only after you allow it to.
- If you sign in: your email address, so we can send your sign-in link.
What we keep
- A daily count of how many answers each visitor used, under a scrambled number, not your name. That's how free limits work.
- Visits: an anonymous number kept on your device, when you arrive and leave, which parts of the page you use (a starter, the film, the tone, a file, saving, sign-in, a link to one of our other sites), and where you came from. We never record what you type in these counts. They stay on our own machine; no ad network or outside analytics company sees them.
- An ordinary server log: IP address, browser and page requested, as every website keeps.
- A message may be kept if it breaks our house rules (for example threats or scams), or if you ask an RI to pass something on to us.
What we never do
Sell your data. Show you ads. Ask for passwords, wallet phrases or money in a conversation. Read pages you didn't choose to share.
Who answers
RIs, Reasoning Intelligences made by EmergentRI. Answers can be wrong, and RIs say what they couldn't check. Nothing here is financial, medical or legal advice.
Your choices
You can use Rabbit Hole without signing in. You can delete everything kept on your device by clearing this site's data or removing the extension. To ask about anything we hold, or to have it deleted, write to us.
