Rabbit Hole

Before you pick a side, see every piece.

Most of us now get handed the conclusion before we ever see the evidence. A headline tells you what to think. A feed shows you the half that fits. Rabbit Hole does the opposite: it lays out the pieces and lets you connect them yourself.

Why we built it

Friendships end over a yard sign. Families go quiet at dinner. Someone hears one clip about a person they've never met, and there's nothing left to talk about. It isn't only a feeling: in 2022, 72% of Republicans said Democrats are more immoral than other Americans, and 63% of Democrats said the same about Republicans (Pew Research).

Disagreeing isn't the problem. Being told what to conclude is. And once anyone has been told, they defend it. But put two real pieces side by side, and the mind wants to connect them. A conclusion you reach yourself is one you can trust.

How it works

Bring a question, a post, a link or a video. On anything where serious people disagree, your RI (a Reasoning Intelligence) doesn't hand you a verdict. It sorts what's out there:

What's solidand how we know it.
What's contestedwho holds each view, and their best evidence, in their own best terms.
What's documentedwho said and did what, on the public record.
What's honestly oddthe pieces that don't fit yet.
What nobody can know yetsaid plainly, instead of guessed.

Then it gets out of the way.

Our seven promises

  1. We lay out the pieces. We don't hand down verdicts on what serious people disagree about.
  2. Every piece is real, sourced and labelled for what it is.
  3. We show the pieces that cut against what you think, and against what we might lean toward.
  4. We name a person only for what is already public record.
  5. We answer what you actually said. We never mock you, lecture you or put words in your mouth.
  6. We build up your own reasoning. Nobody should feel small for asking.
  7. We stay civil with everyone, whatever sign is in their yard.

What you can do with it

What we won't do

We won't tell you what to believe, sell you a side, or pretend to know what nobody can. We can be wrong. When we are, tell us at support. We'd rather be corrected than comfortable.
